New Jersey lawmakers want to know whether Gov. Chris Christie's (R) re-election campaign communicated with a former Port Authority official prior to his testimony in November in which he blamed George Washington Bridge lane closures on a "traffic study."

The campaign's attorney, Mark Sheridan, told TPM on Tuesday that the New Jersey legislative committee investigating the closure sent the campaign a subpoena this week demanding any material related to testimony former Port Authority official Bill Baroni gave at a hearing before the Assembly's transportation committee. Sheridan said the subpoena also demanded any communications between the campaign and the mayor at the center of the scandal.

A group of 13 demonstrators were arrested Monday at the Utah Capitol as they blocked the entrance as part of a protest supporting a bill that would ban employment and housing discrimination against LGBT individuals, the Salt Lake City Tribune reported.

Last week, state Senate Republicans voted not to consider the bill, SB 100, during this legislative session.

The New Jersey Legislature's committee investigating last September's lane closures on the George Washington Bridge issued second round of subpoenas to over a dozen individuals and organizations including the office of Gov. Chris Christie (R) and several close aides to the governor. A source at the State House gave TPM a list of 18 subpoenas Monday that they said were sent out by the committee.

The New Jersey Legislature's committee investigating last September's lane closures on the George Washington Bridge met Monday and voted on six motions related to arguments two ex-aides to Gov. Chris Christie (R) made in response to the committee's subpoenas. At the meeting the committee voted to declare the Fifth Amendment objections raised by Bridget Ann Kelly and Bill Stepien "invalid."

Former New Jersey state Sen. Barbara Buono offered some harsh words in an interview published Monday about Hillary Clinton and other fellow Democrats who she said abandoned her as she ran last year against Gov. Chris Christie (R).

In the interview with the New York Times, Buono spoke with some bitterness about a "nice letter" she received from Clinton after the election was over.
