Iowa Was A Disaster. Now Two States Have Their Eye On Its Coveted ‘First-In-Nation’ Spot

We’re just a little over 24-hours away from the second primary contest of 2020 and Americans are still unsure what happened in Iowa last week.

The “first-in-nation” Democratic caucus a week ago was, and continues to be, an unmitigated disaster thanks to, among other things, a broken vote counting app and a hoard of pro-Trump trolls clogging up caucus workers’ phone lines. Not only has the Associated Press still declined to declare a winner, but 2020 candidates Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Pete Buttigieg are now calling for a partial recanvass of the caucus results due to errors in the vote tallying process.
