Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) slowly continues to widen his lead over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, according to an American Research Group poll released Tuesday.
The poll showed support for Sanders at 49 percent compared to Clinton’s 42 percent. Results from previous iterations of the same poll indicate that Sanders’ lead in the Granite State has been slowly but surely widening: Clinton enjoyed a slight advantage in the state in ARG’s December poll with 46 percent to Sanders’ 43 percent, but by mid-January Sanders led Clinton 49 percent to 43 percent.
This result is consistent with most other New Hampshire polling, although the extent of Sanders’ lead over Clinton varies widely in those polls.
The ARG poll was carried out Jan. 23-25, with pollsters surveying 600 likely Democratic voters in the state by telephone. The margin of error was 4 percentage points.
