More than half of Republicans and GOP-leaners wish they had a different presidential nominee on the Republican ticket, according to a Gallup poll.

When asked if they were pleased with Donald Trump as the Republican presidential nominee, only 46 percent of Republican voters said they were happy with the candidate, and another 52 percent were looking for someone else.

Democratic voters and leaners seem happier with Hillary Clinton, with 56 percent saying they are pleased with the former Secretary of State’s candidacy and 42 percent hoping for a different candidate.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) seems to have left an impact on young Democratic voters, with 60 percent saying they wish for an alternative to Clinton, according to the poll. Voters 40 and older are partial to Clinton, with 67 percent saying they are pleased with the Democratic candidate.

The Gallup poll was conducted over the phone Aug. 15-16 among 1,013 adults surveyed nationally, including 466 Republican voters and leaners and 451 Democratic voters and leaners. Both subsets have a margin of error of plus or minus six percent.
