A new Public Policy Polling survey released Monday show Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC) with a small lead over House Speaker Thom Tillis, her Republican opponent in the North Carolina race for U.S. Senate.
The new poll found Hagan leading Tillis 46 percent to 43 percent among likely voters. The poll’s findings make it the third one in three months to show Hagan with a 3 or 4-point lead over Tillis. The poll found that Libertarian candidate Sean Haugh with 5 percent support.
In a head-to-head the margin is essentially the same, the poll found. Without Haugh, Hagan leads Tillis 47 percent to 44 percent.
The poll’s findings are yet another datapoint suggesting that Hagan has managed to keep a small lead over Tillis, contrasting her with some of the other most vulnerable Senate Democrats up for re-election this cycle.
The poll was conducted among 780 likely voters from Oct. 16 to 18. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
The TPM Polltracker average gives Hagan a 0.8 point lead over Tillis.
