Florida Republicans and Democrats seem to agree on at least one thing —they’re not crazy about either candidate in the gubernatorial race: Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) or former Gov. Charlie Crist (D).

That’s according to a pair of new polls which show especially bad favorable numbers for either candidate.

A Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday found Scott leading Crist, 44 percent among likely voters to 42 percent. Similarly, a SurveyUSA poll also released Wednesday found Scott leading Crist 43 percent to 42 percent. Those findings are in line with recent polls showing a tight race.

But the favorable to unfavorable numbers for both candidates are more shocking. The Quinnipiac poll found that 41 percent of those surveyed had an favorable opinion of Crist while 49 percent said they had an unfavorable view of him. For Scott, the poll found that 42 percent had an favorable view of him while 48 percent said they had an unfavorable view of him.

The numbers were somewhat worse in the SurveyUSA poll. Among likely voters 45 percent said they had an unfavorable view of Crist while just 33 percent said the had a favorable view of him. Meanwhile 42 percent said they had an unfavorable view of Scott while 37 percent said they had a favorable view of him.

The findings prompted Harry Enten at FiveThirtyEight.com to write a post about how no other gubernatorial race in the country has such disdain for both the Democratic and Republican candidates.

The TPM Polltracker average gives Scott a 1.7 point lead over Crist.
