President Trump reacted to reports that he and his son-in-law Jared Kushner were both flagged by Deutsche Bank for suspicious activity in 2016 and 2017 by praising the bank, but claiming he doesn’t “need” banks in general because he has to much money.

The tweets are a befuddling reaction to the New York Times report over the weekend that Deutsche Bank anti-money laundering investigators noticed suspicious deposits, but executives opted to not notify the Treasury Department of the unusual activity on the Trump and Kushner accounts.

Deutsche Bank has come under increased scrutiny in recent weeks as House Democrats investigate the Trump family’s finances and businesses dealings. The Trump family sued the bank last month to block Democrats’ subpoena of financial records.
