DNC Chair Tim Kaine hit back today at GOPers for saying the stimulus isn’t working, pointing out that Republican members of Congress “are out of one side of their mouth criticizing the stimulus, but on the other side getting in line to get every last dollar they can.”
Earlier on Fox News, Michael Steele had said that despite the president’s claims to the contrary, the stimulus is not working.
Kaine, who also appeared on Fox News, responded:
Here’s what I suggest Michael Steele do: If he doesn’t see the stimulus working, he should talk to the 90 members of Congress, Republican Senators and Congress members, and Republican Governors, who are out of one side of their mouth criticizing the stimulus, but on the other side getting in line to get every last dollar they can, and showing up at ribbon cuttings, and handing out the over-sized checks.
He added: “They know it is effecting their economies positively, and that’s why they’re doing it.”
