The Hamilton County Democratic Women have released video of their heated meeting with Tim Crawford, Democratic candidate for the House in IN-05, who local Democrats see as an inept right-winger ruining their chance to take control of the seat.

As we previously reported, Democrats questioned Crawford to the point where he offered to quit the race, and then a few days later changed his mind.

Crawford is campaigning for 14-term incumbent Rep. Dan Burton’s seat. IN-05 is considered a safe Republican district, with 59% voting for John McCain in the 2008 election.

In the videos, Crawford is visibly uncomfortable with direct questions about his policy positions. He calls himself a “student of life” to defend his lack of a college degree, and can’t answer simple questions about how a bill becomes a law.

Since his reversal, local Democrats have started a Facebook group called “We Want Tim Crawford to Withdraw His Candidacy Now,” pushing for him to bow out as he previously said he would.

For those that enjoy a good trainwreck, here are all five of the videos.

The first part shows Crawford’s opening remarks, and some harsh words from audience members on his states rights stance:

Part two, in which audience members tell Crawford that he’s basically a Republican and has no shot at winning the general election:

Part three is where it’s first suggested that Crawford resign, and where he makes the suggestion that being gay might be a mutation. It does not go over well:

In part four, Crawford talks about bailing out the states by cutting funds from the Department of Education:

And in part five, Crawford trips over an explanation of how a bill becomes a law:

And unfortunately, because the video camera ran out of batteries, Crawford’s actual resignation promise isn’t on tape. But he confirmed that it did happen.
