Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI), a pro-life Democrat who’s among the key Democratic holdouts on health care reform, is holding a press conference momentarily.
The press conference will take place in the House Recording Studio at 4 PM EST, ahead of the House vote on the bill.
There have been a number of conflicting reports all afternoon about whether Stupak is ready to switch his vote to “yes” on health care. That would be a huge development — Stupak claimed to control eight votes this morning — that could really lock things up for House Democrats.
Stupak told reporters — including TPM’s Brian Beutler — earlier this afternoon that there was still no deal.
