Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein briefly responded to President Donald Trump’s attacks against him during a news conference Thursday, saying that the Justice Department “operates under the rule of law” and that it makes its decisions “without regard to partisan political considerations.”
A reporter had asked the deputy attorney general about a retweet from the President showing Rosenstein behind bars, and about a more recent tweet from Trump calling his former lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, a “rat” for cooperating with prosecutors.
