In an appearance on Morning Joe this morning, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney lashed out at Democrats in Washington, calling the current Democratic majority a “neo-monarchy” and “royalists in Washington.”

“I think there’s a sense in Massachusetts, like the rest of the country, that Democrats are playing fast and loose in Washington,” Romney remarked, “that there’s kind of a neo-monarchy if you will where they don’t have to listen to the American people, they know what’s better for the American people than the people know themselves… and people here in Massachusetts are saying, ‘Look, we think the people ought to run this country, not these royalists in Washington.'”
