NPR reporter Mara Liasson was reportedly pressured by executives over her frequent appearances on Fox News, because of concerns that the cable news network had become more biased.

According to Politico, NPR’s executive news editor Dick Meyer and senior Washington editor Ron Elving requested in October that Liasson watch Fox News for 30 days and reconsider her appearances on the network.

In a follow-up meeting, Liasson denied any change in Fox News’ reporting, and defended her appearances, saying they were on Fox’s news shows and not their political commentary programs. Liasson, who is listed as a political contributor on FoxNews.com, is often a guest on Fox’s Special Report and Fox News Sunday.

The pressure on Liasson is the latest push back against Fox News for its perceived political bias, which the White House attacked back in October for being “the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party.”
