The head of the Family Research Council will ask the group’s members to stop donating to the Republican National Committee after FEC reports revealed that the committee had spent $2,000 at a nightclub that features topless dancers, Politico reports.

In an email to supporters, Tony Perkins writes, “I’ve hinted at this before, but now I am saying it-don’t give money to the RNC. … If you want to put money into the political process, and I encourage you to do so, give directly to candidates who you know reflect your values.”

“This latest incident is another indication to me the RNC is completely tone-deaf to the values and concerns of a large number of people they are seeking financial support from,” Perkins writes.

After the nightclub story became public, the RNC fired the staffer who approved the reimbursement and a spokesman says the committee will get the money back.
