Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is on “a lightning fast trajectory” towards recovery, her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, tells Brian Williams. In addition, Giffords is in a great mood and Kelly has now been able to conduct ongoing conversations with his wife.
Giffords was shot last month in the Tucson, Arizona shooting tragedy, and Williams was amazed by her speedy recovery. Kelly also said they have been keeping Giffords up to date with ongoing news and that her physical appearance and characteristics are slowly returning to normal.
With Giffords now a public figure the whole country is rooting for, every step of her recovery will likely be celebrated. The rest of Kelly’s interview airs on tonight’s NBC Nightly News.
