Union members who work in various public sectors swarmed Capitol Hill with accompanying protesters Wednesday, wielding paper plates to represent the basic needs they lack without paychecks and chanting to end the shutdown.
Per CNN, the protesters plan to head to the office of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and other lawmakers when Capitol Police clear them out of the Hart Senate building where they are currently stationed.
