MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — Authorities in Pennsylvania say a man has shot an 11-year-old boy in the chest with a BB gun and claims the boy had previously shot his own young son with the same kind of weapon.

Police in Allegheny County say 31-year-old Albert Clark of McKeesport approached the boy Sunday afternoon on the playground of the former George Washington Elementary School and fired twice.

Police say the boy was taken to UPMC McKeesport and later flown to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in critical condition.

Police say Clark told investigators the boy had shot his 5-year-old son with a BB gun. Clark faces charges including aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

Clark is being held on $250,000 bail. Court documents don’t list an attorney who could comment on the charges.
