Freedom First PAC, the political vehicle of Minnestoa Gov. Tim Pawlenty, just announced Brian Haley as its new finance director. Haley moves from his current post at John McCain’s (R-AZ) Country First PAC.
Freedom First co-chair Bill Strong said this about Haley in a released statement:
Brian’s work on the McCain campaign distinguished him as one of the bright young stars in conservative politics. His national experience and knowledge will help us tap into the great well of enthusiasm we’re finding for Tim Pawlenty’s message.
Pawlenty, who is considered a potential GOP frontrunner in 2012, has denied that his PAC is related to his rumored run for the Oval Office. But the Haley appointment may signal otherwise.
Haley served as deputy finance director for McCain-Palin 2008, and now joins a team that includes a former Karl Rove aide.
