ABC released a short preview this morning of Barbara Walters’ interview with Sarah Palin, whose memoir “Going Rogue” will be released this week.

In the clip (which you can view here), Walters asks the former GOP vice presidential nominee about press reports last year citing anonymous McCain aides calling Palin a “diva” and a “whack job.”

“Why do you think these people were trying to destroy your reputation?” Walters asked.

Palin:

For some people, this is a business. And if failure in this business was going to reflect poorly on them, they had to kind of pack their own parachutes and protect themselves and their reputations so they wouldn’t be blamed. I’ll take the blame though, because I know at the end of the day what the truth is.

And here’s one more promotional clip from the interview. In this one, Palin says her daughter Bristol’s pregnancy was “shocking” because the former Alaska governor wasn’t aware that she was sexually active. Palin also appears to respond to a question about the pregnancy by saying, “truthfully, we were devastated.”
