President Obama spoke today on the failed plot to bomb Times Square in New York City, and was emphatic that “justice will be done.” But, he said, “as Americans and as a nation we will not be terrorized.”

The President said that a suspect is now in custody and is being questioned. He was apprehended, Obama said, “because of close and effective coordination at every level.”

He added that the attempted “terrorist attack” failed “because ordinary citizens were vigilant” and local and federal authorities “acted quickly.”

“New Yorkers have reminded us once again of how to live with their heads held high,” Obama said.
