You know Rep. Michele Bachmann has crossed a line when Bill O’Reilly grills her, and even says: “You’re dodging my question.”

That’s what happened on O’Reilly’s Fox News show Friday when Bachmann (R-MN) came on to talk about BP’s $20 billion Gulf spill fund, which she had previously called “a “redistribution-of-wealth fund.” She’d also said that BP “shouldn’t have to be fleeced” for the fund, which will be used to pay damage claims resulting from the spill.

On Friday, O’Reilly directly asked Bachmann if she thinks “Obama shook down BP” when he created the fund. The Republican Study Committee, a group of conservative members of the House, released a statement last week calling the $20 billion BP escrow account a “Chicago-style political shakedown.” Bachmann is a member of the RSC.

Bachmann replied that Obama had put pressure on BP by previously saying “that he wanted a criminal investigation,” so BP officials thought “they would end up in the slammer” when they agreed to the fund.

O’Reilly responded that he thought Obama did the right thing “by putting maximum amount of pressure on these weasels.”

“You gotta force these people to do it,” he said, adding, “Come on! I’d go in there with a machine gun if I were President.”

She responded that Obama putting pressure on BP to “take money from the shareholders” to “keep themselves out of jail” might be “crossing lines.”
