Former Nevada assemblywoman Sharron Angle — a Republican candidate for Senate in Nevada — said on Fox News today that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (R-NV) is “waterboarding our economy.”

“We’ve got Harry Reid waterboarding our economy out here with 14% unemployment and the highest foreclosure rates in the nation,” she said. “We need to fire Harry Reid.”

Angle repeatedly said her focus is Reid, and assured Fox News’ Neil Cavuto that she’d support the Republican nominee — even if it’s not her.

Lamenting that Republican infighting was hurting the party’s chances to defeat Reid, Cavuto said, “You’re killing each other.”

“I haven’t been killing anybody, Neil,” she said.

The TPM Poll Average in Nevada’s Republican Senate primary shows former state Sen. Sue Lowden leading former UNLV basketball player Danny Tarkanian 33.6% to 26.4%. Angle has 13.8%. However, the race’s most recent poll shows Angle leading with 29%, compared to 26% for Lowden and 24% for Tarkanian.

The primary will be held June 8.
