The National Republican Senatorial Committee has found itself playing defense for an indelicate web video it put out about Ohio Democratic Senate nominee Lee Fisher, according to a report in The Columbus Dispatch.

Some charged that the ad, which featured a still image of Fisher set to smooth jazz, implied the Democrat was masturbating, a claim the NRSC denied to the Dispatch.

“The web video is about jobs and about Lee Fisher’s record as jobs czar and 400,000 jobs lost under his watch,” NRSC spokesperson Amber Marchand told the Dispatch. “Obviously, there are a lot of different ways that folks (use to) draw attention to web videos.”

Marchand also said the ad, which has since been taken down due to a copyright violation unrelated to the topless image of Fisher, had the full support of the NRSC and its chairman, Sen. John Cornyn of Texas.
