Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich slammed President Obama’s new, more restrictive nuclear weapons policy last night, saying Obama’s plan was based on “a fantasy” and could “get an awful lot of people killed.”

“You have the president over here in a fantasy, and it’s a fantasy,” Gingrich said on Fox News. “It sounds good. It would be wonderful. It just doesn’t fit this particular planet.”

Gingrich said “a whole host” of “potential enemies” — like Iran, North Korea, Pakistan and al Qaeda — were “methodically doing their thing” or “laughing” while Obama announced the new strategy.

The greatest danger is that we will end up confusing words with reality in a way that someday could get an awful lot of people killed.

Gingrich also declared that Obama “completely misunderstands reality” and had “gone out of his way to offend Karzai” and “gone out of his way to be genuinely publicly nasty to Netanyahu.”
