Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE) maintained on Fox News last night that “there was no effort at all to buy” his vote on health care reform.
In an interview on On The Record last night, host Greta Van Susteren asked Nelson about whether he was promised funding for his state in exchange for his vote on the health care reform bill.
Nelson responded that “there was no quid pro quo.”
“I had requirements,” he continued. “The requirements were no government-run plan, no national exchange and adequate language to deal with abortion.”
“But nobody was buying any votes,” Nelson said.
