Fox News host Neil Cavuto compared the spending habits of Congress to troubled Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen’s alleged drug addiction problem on his program Monday. Cavuto said that just like Sheen — who appears to be in the midst of a very public meltdown — Congress isn’t willing to acknowledge it has a problem.

“One is blowing his own money and doesn’t really see it, and the others are blowing out our money and won’t admit it,” Cavuto said. “So the actor justified bad behavior with more bad behavior, the actors… bad spending with still more bad spending.”

“Now one guy is blowing a sure thing and maybe losing a bundle, and the others are blowing a bundle and leaving us sure of only one thing: Washington’s ways aren’t getting better and neither is Charlie,” Cavuto said.

“Both have a problem seeing the mess each is in. And both prefer digging a ditch they simply cannot dig out. Charlie wants to get back to work but CBS is going to pay, politicians promising they will get back to business, but, clearly, signaling we are going to pay.

“Charlie has not seen the light and the tea party says clearly Congress, hasn’t, either,” Cavuto said.
