David Letterman made Brian Williams “highly uncomfortable” last night when he started talking about Speaker-Designate John Boehner (R-OH), who Letterman said “will cry like he’s on drugs.”
Williams mentioned that he has to interview Boehner later this week, and Letterman joked that he should “pass this along.” He then described how he got a Valium prescription for a concussion, and then found himself “sobbing” during a McDonald’s commercial. This “leads me to believe,” Letterman continued, “I’m not suggesting he’s using drugs, what I’m suggesting is there has been trauma in this man’s life that he has struggled with and that’s why he’s always sobbing.”
