On Fox News this morning, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) said that if Sen. Harry Reid can successfully get “60 Democrats who will to move to proceed” on the health care reform bill in the Senate, it would be “kind of the beginning of the end” for health care reform because “Once you get on to this bill, it’s going to be very difficult not to go to final passage.” He added, “But that’s what we’re going to try and see if we can stop.”

Every single Republican will oppose going to this bill because they know it will only get worse. None of the things that they like about the bill will get better; and the things they object to would take 60 votes to change, and they know they’re not going to get 60 votes to amend the bill to their liking.

Kyl continued: “The American people are the only ones who can really stop this, because the senators who probably should not vote to proceed on this bill, because of their constituents, are doing so because the President asked them to, because their leader, Harry Reid, asked them to do that.”
