No matter how hard he tries, Newt Gingrich will always be uncool, according to Jon Stewart.
Stewart was unmoved last night by Gingrich’s decision to announce his presidency via Twitter, a move some saw as an attempt to court younger voters and prove that he’s adapted to the new media landscape.
“I say this with all due respect Newt, and I hate to break this to you,” Stewart said. “But this whole Twitter, Youtube thing is not going to work for you because you’re not cool. You’re uncool.”
“Let me put this in lingo that you might understand,” he added. “You’re what might be known to your generation as a square.”
Stewart went on to say that even if Newt got himself a leather jacket, or started sporting a Justin Bieber haircut, he would still be a total square.
“Let’s face it, Newt,” Stewart said. “If you were a superhero, your power would be the ability to turn things beige.”
