CNN gave Tim Pawlenty a prime chance to slam Mitt Romney in the Republican debate, but Pawlenty didn’t have the nerve to do it to his face, according to Jon Stewart.
Stewart was optimistic that Pawlenty would take on the presumptive frontrunner for the GOP nod given that, in an interview on Fox News Sunday, Pawlenty labeled the federal health care overhaul “Obamneycare.”
“Two names together with ‘care’ is like the Brangelina of socialized medicine.” Stewart said. “Oh damn, it’s on.”
But Pawlenty whiffed in the debate, claiming that his earlier comment wasn’t directed at Romney, but was really a criticism of Obama.
“Did I say, Obamneycare? I ment to say Oba-Palin care,” Stewart said in an imitation of Pawlenty. “She’s not here right?”
