Jon Stewart Mocks CNN’s ‘Ameri-gasm’ Debate (VIDEO)

Monday night’s Republican presidential debate was truly “an historic event,” Jon Stewart said, with a “truly remarkable pairing.”

“A fringe, often derided, incompetent bunch of yahoos was finally granted legitimacy by pairing with the tea party,” Stewart said.

CNN’s “Ameri-gasm” kicked off in true reality-show fashion, dubbing Michele Bachmann the “firebrand” and Jon Huntsman the “diplomat.” But after meeting the candidates for the first time, CNN thought it appropriate to introduce them again.

“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” Stewart said. “Come on, we get it, everyone there loves America. For god’s sake, the debate set already looks like the inside of Betsy Ross’ vagina … from what I’ve been told.”

But the one area CNN decided to keep brief was the candidates’ actual self-introductions.

“Oh really?” Stewart said. “Running a little behind the schedule, are ya? After all the things we’ve seen on CNN — the Donald Trump Apprentice-like open, the New York Knicks-style candidate introductions, the singing lady — the one area you can justify trimming is the candidates talking. Because god forbid your 24-hour network goes long and cuts into Piers Morgan…”
