In the wake of a devastating earthquake, Haitian survivors and rescue workers do have one thing on their side: technology.

Haitians are taking to Twitter, YouTube, blogs, and data collection websites to give eye witness accounts of the tragedy, organize, search for loved ones, report casualties, and upload amateur photos and videos of the devastation. Akin to what we saw in Iran over the summer, this event has again allowed Twitter to display its info-sharing merits. A flood of reliable information and compelling photos are being tweeted by survivors who are also using the site to report personal family death tolls and search for loved ones.

Here are some of the best sources:

haiti.ushahidi.com contains information and eye witness accounts that can be submitted via voicemail, text or e-mail.

-The New York Times and LA Times have created comprehensive lists of all tweets related to the Haiti quake.

-Haitian Radio and Television Host Carel Pedre’s Twitter feed.

-Some of the most gripping photos so far from Haiti are coming from photographer Daniel Morel’s Twitter account and many of his shots have been distributed by AFP/Getty Images.

-Haitian radio station Radio Tele Gine has used their website to share incoming photos and information.

-Many blogs and websites devoted entirely to the earthquake with catalogs of videos, photos, and reports have popped up in the aftermath.

We’ll be updating this list as we verify more sources throughout the day.
