FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe implied today that reports of anti-reform protesters hurling racial epithets at Congressmen are not entirely accurate, claiming he “did not not see this kind of behavior.”

On MSNBC, Kibbe said that he was at the protests and “what I saw is very contrary to reports that I’m hearing from the members of Congress. I saw a lot of people that were worried about their country. I saw families. I saw a lot of protest against legislation, which is the best of democracy. I did not see this kind of behavior.”

He argued that it clearly was not as bad as some have described, since “first of all there were no arrests,” and “second of all it was an orderly crowd that was chanting ‘kill the bill.'”

Host David Shuster pointed out that someone actually was arrested for spitting on Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO), but was released because Cleaver did not press charges.

Kibbe responded: “I think that report is wrong because I saw the Capitol Hill police saying that they made no arrests yesterday.”
