Think Progress catches Fox News today again using old footage to make crowds look bigger than they were, this time to show all the people that are showing up for Sarah Palin’s book tour.

During a short segment about Palin “drawing crowds” on the tour, Fox played several clips that are obviously from rallies on the campaign trail last year. While the clips played, host Gregg Jarrett said, “These are some of the pictures just coming in to us. … There’s a crowd of folks.”

Watch:

To be fair, this could have been an honest mistake of the wrong footage playing at the wrong time.

But it’s notable when just last week, Jon Stewart caught Fox News personality Sean Hannity using footage from the 9/12 rally in order to show the “huge crowds” at the much less-attended Capitol Hill tea party this month. Hannity then issued an on-air apology to Stewart.

It’s also worth nothing that while Hannity counts as one of Fox’s opinion programmers, Jarrett is one of their straight news guys.

Fox could not be immediately reached for comment.
