An all-staff meeting has been called at the Washington Times, to be held at 3:30 ET in the newspaper’s ballroom today.
This e-mail from the paper’s vice president for human resources went out at about 2:45 p.m. today:
Dear Colleagues,
At the request of Jonathan Slevin, Acting President and Publisher I am notifying you of an all staff meeting (all employees) that will be held in the Ballroom today at 3:30 p.m.
The rare all-staff meeting — called so abruptly — has many in the newsroom fearing for the worst, and hoping for the best.
It was about a month ago that three Times executives were fired, setting off a period of uncertainty at the conservative newspaper, which was founded by Unification Church leader Rev. Sun Myung Moon.
As always, we’ll tell you more when we know it.
