Last night The Daily Show recapped this season on ‘The D.C.’, chronicling all the drama, the tension, and the twists and turns of life in the nation’s capital (a la Fox’s erstwhile teen drama The O.C.).
With the help of some expertly spliced in movie footage, Jon Stewart related the saga of President Obama’s health care reform optimism of the spring, the following summer of discontent and rowdy town halls, the president’s triumphant wooing of Sen. Olympia Snowe, and finally: “What could possibly stop the freight train of reform from leaving universal health care station?” Cut to the Senate floor: “The junior senator from Connecticut is recognized.” Lieberman!!! Arrrgghh!!!
