NEW YORK (AP) — New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has met with the families of the two officers shot to death in a squad car this weekend.

The mayor and Police Commissioner William Bratton met with relatives Monday of Officers Rafael Ramos (rah-fy-EHL’ RAH’-mohs) and Officer Wenjian Liu (WEHN’-jihn LOO’).

The two were ambushed by 28-year-old Ismaaiyl (IHSH’-mayl) Brinsley on Saturday afternoon. Brinsley ran into a subway station and killed himself on the platform.
