Despite months-long pushback from President Trump’s attorney regarding if and how Trump will answer special counsel Robert Mueller’s questions, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Trump and “everyone around him” have been “nothing but 100 percent compliant” with Mueller’s investigation.

The comments also follow Trump’s decision to fire his attorney general and replace him with an acting head who has been publicly critical of the Mueller Russia investigation. Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker — who served as Jeff Sessions’ chief of staff — once suggested to Fox News that whoever replaced Sessions could drain the investigation of its resources instead of firing Mueller to halt the probe.

The move has spooked Democrats and even some Republicans, prompting a bipartisan push in Congress to pass legislation to protect Mueller.
