On Monday night, Stephen Colbert announced that he was ready to endorse Donald Trump’s potential presidential candidacy, in part because he said he’d finally been convinced that Trump’s big publicity stunt could actually vault him into the White House.
For one thing, Colbert said he was impressed with Trump’s unique business strategy of running companies into financial ruin.
“Can you name one other candidate who could make a casino go bankrupt?” Colbert asked.
In addition to Trump’s business record, Colbert lauded the Donald’s personable nature and his strong appeal to people of all races. Specifically, Colbert highlighted Trump’s recent comment that he has a good relationship with, “the blacks.”
“See? He has a great relationship with the blacks,” Colbert said. “And he must. How else could he get away with calling them, ‘the blacks?”‘
