New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg thinks the New Yorker magazine cover, showing him staring adoringly at his own reflection, is “great.”

“I thought it was cute looking into the mirror,” Bloomberg said.

The magazine cover — titled “Bloom in Love” — shows Bloomberg blushing into a mirror, red hearts floating above his head and a Valentine’s day box of chocolates labeled “To: Me.”

Cartoonist Barry Blitt, who drew the cover, told the New York Times the idea didn’t start with Bloomberg.

“It was a Valentine idea before it was a Bloomberg idea,” he said. Blitt considered Sarah Palin and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange as possible candidates before settling on Bloomberg.

Bloomberg summed up the piece, saying “I like what I see in the mirror, and I hope everybody here does.”
