For the third time in a week, Vice President Joe Biden’s motorcade was connected to a traffic accident, after a New York City police car hit a cab when checking traffic ahead of the Vice President’s procession.

The unmarked police car hit a livery cab during a routine patrol ahead of the motorcade, when the cab did not stop for the police car. The Vice President was on his way to a taping of the Daily Show, but was not involved in the accident. No one was hurt.

This marks the third accident that has surrounded the motorcade in the past week, one occurring on Monday in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A Sheriff’s Deputy that was escorting the motorcade was hit by a woman who drove around two police cars blocking the intersection for the Vice President. There were no reports of any injuries.

The first accident took place on November 11 in Temple Hills, Maryland, when two Secret Service employees struck and killed a pedestrian while driving armored vehicles, usually a part of the Vice President’s security detail. Biden was not present at the time.
