If the Arizona legislature has anything to say about it, President Barack Obama may have to show the state his birth certificate before seeking reelection in 2012.
The Associated Press reports that a state House committee approved a measure yesterday — sponsored by 40 of Arizona’s 90 state legislators — that would require presidential candidates to submit documentation proving their eligibility to serve as president before appearing on Arizona’s ballot.
The idea comes from Skull Valley Republican Judy Burges. All of the proposal’s co-sponsors are Republicans.
