ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis told a group of young lefties that the Tea Party was more of a scatological movement than a political one, and warned them of threats she sees in the current political climate.
Speaking at the Winter Conference of the Young Democratic Socialists in March, Lewis said the current political atmosphere would ‘dwarf’ the McCarthy-era, the era of Japanese internment during WWII, and the era of Jim Crow and segregation.
“This rise of the Tea Party so-called movement — bowel movement in my opinion — and this blatant uncovering and ripping off the mask of racism — here’s what we have to do… you do whatever you can, in every way that you can, and all of you devote more time to building this organization.”
