A former resident of Maine admitted that he sent emails to NPR in January threatening to rape, torture and murder on-air hosts Guy Raz and Melissa Block, the Justice Department announced Friday.John Crosby, a former resident of Maine, pleaded guilty in federal court in Portland on Friday to charges of sending threatening communications in interstate commerce and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Crosby was not allowed to have a weapon because of previous convictions for robbery and heroin possession. He’s faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
