The House Oversight Committee approved a report yesterday on the investigations into the death of Pat Tillman and the capture of Jessica Lynch in Iraq. A team of state securities regulators demanded documents and conducted interviews yesterday at the headquarters of Wachovia Securities about the firm’s sales and marketing of auction rate securities. This comes after the Securities and Exchange Commission requested information from Wachovia earlier this year. (Wall Street Journal)
A federal judge ruled yesterday that the trial of Guantanamo detainee Salim Hamdan will continue. The judge said that he could not intervene in the military justice process. The decision came after lawyers for Hamdan attempted to delay his upcoming military commission at Guantanamo. (Washington Post)
