An anonymous man in Grand Junction, Colo., has commissioned a billboard over the interstate there that shows four cartoon versions of President Obama — as a terrorist, a gangster, a bandito and a gay man — gambling with the Bible, the Constitution and Uncle Sam.

The artist who designed the billboard, Paul Snover, won’t say who paid him $500 to create the image. But he did explain what the unidentified man wanted to say:

“He doesn’t care for what Obama is doing for the country and wanted to get that across to the people of Grand Junction and possibly around the country,” Snover told NBC11.

“He was wanting to represent the influences he saw the president as having in his administration,” he told KJCT8. The Obamas are surrounded by rats named FED, EPA and “trial lawyers,” and vultures named after George Soros and the United Nations.

The chairs of the Democratic and Republican parties in Grand Junction both told the Daily Sentinel that the billboard is “disrespectful.”

The person who paid for the billboard remains a mystery. Tim Murray, general manager of Colorado West Outdoor Advertising, told TPM he owns 95 of the city’s 100 billboards — but not that one. CWOA did, however, own the billboard that made a few headlines in March with an image of Jimmy Carter and a thought bubble with the words, “They don’t call me the worst president anymore!”

The billboard is located on the same property as an auto repair shop. The person who picked up the phone there said the shop doesn’t know who owns the billboard.

Other anti-Obama billboards — like one that asked “Obama or Jihad?” in Colorado and another that compared Obama to Lenin and Hitler in Iowa — have sprouted around the county.
