The California family values legislator who announced he is gay after being arrested driving home drunk with a man from a Sacramento gay club has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor drunk driving charge, the AP reports.

State Senator Roy Ashburn, who is not running for reelection, was sentenced to two days in jail for the early March incident. His license is suspended for 30 days and the court fined him $2,000.
