Zynga, the social gaming giant behind “FarmVille” and “Words With Friends,” has hired its first D.C. lobbying firms, according to the Sunlight Foundation, a non-profit advocacy group dedicated to open government. The move appears to be a preemptive one designed to influence bills on “regulation and taxation” of online gaming.
The two firms Zynga hired are Bay Bridge Strategies, Inc. and Peck, Madison, Jones and Stewart, Inc. It’s unclear how much Zynga has spent on the firms so far.
