After days of intense violence in Yemen — where dozens of protesters were killed over the past several days — the country’s capital is relatively calm on Tuesday.

The AP reports:

After the cease-fire came into force at 4 p.m. local time, only sporadic gunfire could be heard in the city, according the officials and residents.
