A Wyoming state Senate Republican told a radio program last week that he gave his dying uncle marijuana to ease pain decades ago and supports laws that would let others do the same.

“I had an uncle who almost 30 years ago now died of lung cancer,” state Senator Bruce Burns (R) said on KROE’s Public Pulse news talk show. “We provided him some marijuana. Because 30 years ago the chemotherapy was quite a bit rougher than it is now. And he ended up gaining 15 pounds before he passed away and was quite a bit more comfortable.”
